(Formerly Cultural Variations in Nursing) The purpose of this Study Abroad course is to develop further an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the cultural factors that underlie a person’s way of living. This course will increase the practitioner’s ability to make in-depth assessments of the cultural influences upon the individual’s health care status and will develop the ability to deliver culturally sensitive, safe, and effective care. Open to Nursing Students Only or Consent of Instructor Required.
