(Formerly Music History and Literature III) Survey of music history, works and culture in the United States, from 1945 to the present. Scope includes music composed for concert performance and music created as recordings. (Three semester rotation). Open to Juniors and Seniors Only.

Satisfies upper-division writing proficiency requirement.

Prerequisites: MUS 1220 and 1230, and consent of instructor.
