Instrumental methods of chemical analysis including discussion of the theory and applications of nuclear magnetic resonance, electron spin resonance, mass spectroscopy, infrared, Raman, visible, ultraviolet, and atomic absorption spectroscopy; specific ion electrode methods; gas and liquid chromatography.

Satisfies upper-division writing proficiency requirement.

Prerequisites: CHEM 2010, CHEM 3020, and CHEM 4010 with C- or higher grades.
