HIST 4540 - The Spanish-Aztec War

The study of Aztec and Spanish histories through the fall of the Aztec Empire in 1521. Students explore the centrality of religion and the complexity of inter-ethnic relations in both the Aztec and Spanish worlds, and interrogate Eurocentric narratives. This class includes a 5-week historical simulation and deep reading of primary and secondary sources.

Prerequisites: One year of college-level history or consent of instructor.
