Visual literacy of the fine arts and other images of cultural production, such as video games, film, advertisement, and the Internet. Visual Culture addresses the social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, and political dimensions and provocations of images in contemporary society. Offers a broad introduction to important critical approaches to the analysis, critique, and evaluation of visual culture. Not open to Art majors or Art History majors.
