A study of the art, architecture and artists of the eighteenth century, from the Rococo through Neoclassicism. An investigation of the relationship of artists and movements to the cultural and intellectual milieu, including discussions of the Enlightenment, revolution, democracy, slavery, colonialism, and the equality of women.
