PSYC 4300 - Addiction and Its Treatment

Reviews current issues in addiction with a focus on treatment. Topics include etiology of substance use disorder and behavioral addictions, assessment practices, goal setting, therapeutic approaches, evidence-based treatment strategies, prevention, and harm reduction. A systematic approach to treatment will be emphasized along with various theoretical approaches.

Prerequisites: PSYC 2010.
