A study of the phonological, morphological, and syntactical changes of the Spanish language from Vulgar Latin to modern times. Also an analysis of modern Spanish phonetics and phonemics with emphasis on contrasts with English.

Prerequisites: SPAN 2020 or equivalent, or consent of instructor.
