(Formerly Marine Biology) Study of marine communities with emphasis on local communities. Ecology and natural history of plants and animals, and their adaptation to marine environments are stressed.

Prerequisites: BIOL 1050 and BIOL 1150 (or equivalent introductory series) and CHEM 1100 and CHEM 1110 with grades of C- or higher, and BIOL 3680.
