SW 5031 - Social Work Theory and Practice with Groups and Communities3 unit(s) (Fnd II: Generalist SW Practice) Course in macro social work theory and practice concentrates on applying theories of bio-psycho-social-spiritual human behavior within the reciprocal relationships of groups, communities and society. Course lays a critical foundation for the advanced year mezzo theory and practice course that addresses social, economic, cultural and justice issues, advocacy and change within groups and organizations to advance the interests of oppressed groups and populations. Open to Social Work Majors Only.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Social Work Program. Completion of SW 5005; SW 5030; one semester of SW 5040.
