KINS 4900 - Exercise is Medicine3 unit(s) The capstone course is intended to present evidence, and to develop a deeper understanding, of how exercise can prevent diseases and improve the quality of life. In addition, students will have the opportunity to actively apply their Kinesiology knowledge. Course covers a broad range of relevant topics for students entering fields related to physical activity and health. These topics include hypokinetic diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, cancer, aging, and mental health. As a part of the course, students will partake in 3 Wins Fitness, the Kinesiology Department’s community based fitness program. Limited to senior standing Kinesiology majors. To be taken in the final semester of the senior year.
Prerequisites: BIOL 1010/1020, ZOOL 2250, ZOOL 2235, MATH 1600, CHEM 1100 & 1102, KINS 4600.
Hours: (2 hours, lecture; 1 hour, discussion)
