KINS 3900 - Health Disparities

Course will introduce students to the concepts of health disparity, health equity, and social justice in health. Students will examine how policy, social, economic, environmental, cultural and lifestyle factors contribute to differences in morbidity and mortality as well as prevalent theories used to understand or explain health disparities. Students will explore populations most affected by health inequities as well as research on health disparities and culturally responsive public health programs to promote health equity. Open to Juniors and Seniors Only.

Prerequisites: KINS 2000: Introduction to Public Health.
