CS 3550 - Introduction to Computational Thinking

Introduction to a few major topics in computing: Algorithms, Abstractions, and Social Impacts. The topics are placed in a real-world context by exploring real-world science and engineering challenges. The course teaches some basic programming and also goes beyond coding to teach computational thinking. Course is aimed at non-computing majors who have no prior computing experience.

Satisfies G.E. area UD-B. Upper Division G.E. courses are designed to be taken after upper-division status (completion of 60 semester units) is attained. Upper Division G.E. courses are designed to be taken after upper-division status (completion of 60 semester units) is attained.
