ETHS 3300 - Black/African American Experiences

This upper division interdisciplinary course studies the experiences of Black/African American communities in the U.S. In particular, this course focuses on the historical and contemporary experiences of Black/African American populations through a variety of perspectives, including critical, intersectional, and decolonial. The class addresses a variety of topics, such as: identity, culture, (de)colonization, migration, gender/sexuality, oppression, and liberation. In addition, the course also examines Black/African diasporas in the U.S. and contemporary issues of Black/African American communities.

Prerequisites: ETHS 2000 recommended
