ETHS 4250 - California Racial and Ethnic Awareness

Course focuses on becoming aware of experiences of underrepresented racial and ethnic populations in California. The first part of the course will address the shifting meanings of race and ethnicity over time. The second part of the course will emphasize California’s major underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, as well as their contributions to the making of California. Course will help future teachers become more familiar with the various perspectives needed to better prepare them to teach more effectively in today’s diverse classrooms. Designed specifically for future teachers (LIBS Integrative Inquiry).
