NURS 5360 - Care of Acute, Chronic, and Critical Primary Care Conditions3 unit(s) This course provides the student with in-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practice management of acutely, chronically, and critically ill patients across the lifespan from diverse populations. Emphasis is on the utilization of relevant theories, critical thinking, and evidence-based knowledge to formulate differential diagnoses, diagnoses, treatment plans, and optimal outcome parameters for physiologically unstable children and adults who have complex acute, chronic and critical health problems, are technologically dependent, and are at high risk for developing complications. The focus of this course is complex cardiovascular, pulmonary, hematological, renal, and commonly occurring health care problems in acutely and critically ill individuals.
Prerequisites: NURS 5340 and NURS 5350.
