ART 4562 - Islamic Art3 unit(s) An in-depth study of Islamic Art, examining the art and architecture of Islamicate empires. The course discussion will be framed through critical theory and aesthetics, exploring the connections between representation, power, and the religion of Islam.
Satisfies G.E. area UD-C and the Multicultural Requirement. Upper Division G.E. courses are designed to be taken after upper-division status (completion of 60 semester units) is attained.
Prerequisites: ART 2515 or ART 2525 or ART 2526 or consent of instructor.
