BIOL 5700 - Biochemical Genetics

(2 Units) Study of inherited metabolic disorders and their associated biochemical pathways. Discussion of biochemical laboratory methodologies, diagnostic testing, management and treatment of specific genetic diseases, and the newborn screening program for metabolic disorders will be covered. (Formerly Molecular and Biochemical Genetics) Prerequisites: BIOL 3350 or equivalent and graduate standing, or consent of instructor. (Lecture, 3 hours)
