PSYC 5640 - Conceptual Issues in Behavior Analysis(3 Units) Complex topics related to human learning and psychopathology will be the primary subject matter. Such areas as thinking, creativity, problem solving, phylogeny, and ontogeny of behavior will be examined from a behavioral perspective. This perspective will be compared to the personality theory framework which produced the current DSM IIIR diagnostic system. The etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of various psychological disorders will be studied using the DSM IIIR as a guide and current behavioral theory as it applies.(Formerly Behaviorism as a Philosophy of Science; Advanced Seminar in Behavior Change)Prerequisites: PSYC 4720 and 4722; PSYC 4750 and 4790 recommended.
