The Department of Psychology is committed to providing a high-quality education to undergraduate and graduate students, helping students understand the central role of science in understanding human behavior, and maintaining a well-rounded faculty that represents all areas of study in the field, including both theoretical and applied interests.

Take PSYC 3000, a 2-unit PSYC Research Seminar, and four other Psychology course numbered 3000 and higher. Spread those four courses among our three areas (Psychology as a Natural Science, Psychology as a Social Science, and Psychology as an Applied Science). If you are thinking about applying to our MS graduate program, two of the four courses should be PSYC 3350 and PSYC 3790. If you are thinking about applying for the MS program with a concentration in Behavior Analysis, PSYC 3700 is recommended.

Take a 3-unit WP research seminar in Psychology, and another four Psychology course numbered 3000 and higher. Make sure that between your third and fourth years you have taken at least 6 units (two courses) in Psychology as a Natural Science, at least 6 units (two courses) in Psychology as a Social Science, and at least 6 units (two courses, not counting PSYC 3010) in Psychology as an Applied Science. If you are thinking about applying to our MS graduate program, take PSYC 4770. If you are thinking about applying for the MS program with a concentration in Behavior Analysis, PSYC 4720 is recommended.
