Roadmap: B.S. in Geology, General

Geology is the study of the Earth, its structure, its processes, its history, and the history of its plant and animal inhabitants. Geology studies the movement of continents across the globe, the raising up and wearing down of mountains, the oceans, the atmosphere, the evolution of the dinosaurs, the discovery and use of mineral deposits, and the effects of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Possible career paths/fields of work include environmental geology, hydrogeology, engineering geology, education, petroleum and economic geology, field geology, science writing and editing, and environmental law.

This Roadmap is a recommended advising map to complete the degree program in four years. Please consult your academic advisor as you develop your academic plan.
