Bachelor’s Degree Completion

Special Session Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs offered in partnership with the selected colleges include:

Summer Session

These classes are open to everyone - current and returning students from Stanislaus State, other colleges and universities, high school, adult learners and members of the community. Classes include general education and high-demand courses offered in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, hybrid and online.

Winter Session

During a three-week period in January, the winter session offers a variety of university general education, major and elective courses. These courses are offered in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, hybrid and online.

Open University

This program opens the doors to university classes for students who are not formally admitted or enrolled in the University. The Open University program serves many purposes: an invitation to try out the University, a resource for those who need a class for personal or professional development, or a second chance for low-GPA students. Students may only enroll on a space-available basis and with the permission of the instructor in any regularly-scheduled course offered by the University. Since enrollment is permitted on a space-available basis, enrollment approval is given on the first day of instruction. If a student wishes to have credit applied toward a degree, a maximum of 24 units is allowable for a baccalaureate degree. A maximum of 9 units is allowed for a graduate degree.

Certificate Programs

Extended Education provides an array of online certificate programs for professional development in subjects like business, software development, health care, design and more. Upon successful completion of a program, students may be awarded continuing education units.

Teacher Education

For current teachers, Extended Education offers classes that award the extension credits needed for professional development. These online computer-based instruction courses offer instruction in timely topics by leaders in the education industry.

Contract Courses

Organizations planning continuing education courses using their own instructors may contract with Extended Education to offer extension credit for approved off-campus courses.

Early College

Extended Education partners with the College of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and Turlock Unified School District to allow juniors and seniors in high school to take Stanislaus State general education courses taught by a Stanislaus State faculty member.  These courses are offered on site at the high schools and are paid for by the school district at no cost to the students.

International Education

International Education at Stanislaus State includes Study Abroad, International Academic Programs, the American Language & Culture Programs and International Student Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions coordination, global cooperation and articulation linkages that augment campus internationalization, foreign credit evaluation, and student/scholars’ services and programs (which include immigration counseling, international faculty/staff affairs, and academic and cross-cultural advising.) We serve as a liaison between the university and international students, global partners, the federal government, public and private agencies, and the community.

International Education is committed to supporting, promoting, and celebrating individuals in an intercultural environment.  We advocate for and facilitate international and cross-cultural experiences, perspectives and initiatives.  International Education promotes and facilitates study abroad programs, and acts as a liaison to the university for international students, researchers, and professors.

International Student Services

International Education assists the University’s F-1 and J-1 visa students and scholars in making the most of their experience at Stanislaus State. Services include comprehensive orientation and advising on immigration matters, cultural adjustment, financial issues, housing, transportation and employment. International Education also advises the international student club on campus.

Study Abroad

International Education offers opportunities for Stanislaus State students to study in many different parts of the world. Students gain an international perspective, increased independence and self-confidence, and a strong professional advantage. Students may earn regular academic credit (students will not receive credit for foreign study undertaken without prior approval of Stanislaus State.) For more information, visit our website at: www.csustan.edu/oie, or call (209) 667-3117.
