ART 2530 - Art Appreciation

(3 Units)

Study of the basic elements of the visual arts (color, line, form, etc.) with emphasis on developing a critical appreciation of various modes of expression. Also stressed are techniques and media, functions and themes in art, the role of the artist, and major stylistic trends in the history of art. Not open to art majors.
