Associated Students, Inc., (ASI) is the student government for the University. As the official voice of the students, its mission is to strive to enhance the ever-changing campus and local community by instilling a sense of pride through service and events. Composed of student-elected representatives, ASI student government serves on university-wide committees and works closely with the campus community.

ASI offers the following programs and services: Student Government, Warrior Lobby Team, Student Government Leadership Council, Student Resource Assistant, Warrior Discounter, Warrior Merchandise and Marketing Design and Print Services.

Additionally, ASI funds and sponsors a portion of Code Red Entertainment - an organization centered on programming and events for students. These groups include ASI Campus Pride and ASI Special Events. These groups plan and execute some of the University’s largest campus and community events including Warrior Day and Homecoming.

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 14 men’s and women’s teams that compete at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division II level. Under the leadership of Athletics Director and outstanding coaches, the Department has consistently competed at the highest level among members of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Successes include 2014, 2015, 2017 CCAA Championships in men’s Golf; 2014 West Region Championship in women’s soccer; 2014 National Champion in women’s 1500m; 2014 CCAA championship in men’s basketball; 2013 CCAA championship in women’s soccer; 2012 CCAA championship in men’s soccer; 2011 CCAA championship in women’s soccer; a 2009 national champion in men’s pole vault; a 2008 CCAA Championship and 2007 NCAA West Region championship in softball; a 2007 conference championship in men’s golf; and 1994 NCAC Championship and 4th place NCAA finish in men’s track & field. Stanislaus State has won 14 national team championships, and its student-athletes have claimed 24 national individual titles.

Fall sports include men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. Winter sports include men’s and women’s basketball and women’s indoor track and field. Spring sports include baseball, men’s golf, softball, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. All current Stanislaus State students are admitted free for all home events.

California State University, Stanislaus and Warrior Athletics became a member of the NCAA Life Skills Program in 2007-08.

The mission of the NCAA is to maintain intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the campus educational program and the student-athlete as an integral part of the student body. With this in mind, the Life Skills Program was created to support the student-athlete development initiatives of NCAA member institutions and to enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience within the context of higher education.

In the process of achieving this mission, the Life Skills Program will:

  • Promote student-athletes’ ownership of their academic, athletic, career, personal and community responsibilities.
  • Meet the changing needs of student-athletes.
  • Promote respect for diversity and inclusion among student-athletes.
  • Assist student-athletes in identifying and applying transferable skills.
  • Enhance partnerships between the NCAA, member institutions and their communities for the purpose of education.
  • Foster an environment that encourages student-athletes to effectively access campus resources.
  • Encourage the development of character, integrity and leadership skills.

Participating institutions in the Life Skills Program are provided with instructional materials and supplemental resources which support a student-athlete’s development in five areas: academics, athletics, personal development, career development and community service.

What a great place to be on campus! Stanislaus State’s Department of Campus Recreation and the Student Recreation Complex recognizes that participation in exercise and recreation plays a vital role in the development and maintenance of an individual physically, mentally and emotionally, and that the purpose of recreation is to enhance the lives of students and advance the educational mission of the university. The goal is to offer a variety of recreational programming that will provide an inclusive educational experience and provide leadership opportunities and student employment.

The Student Fitness Center offers state of the art equipment for individual and group workouts.Our programming supports an individual’s care in the dimensions of wellness critical to a student developing a healthy lifestyle. Our primary emphasis is in the areas of physical wellness, social wellness, emotional wellness and spiritual (harmony) wellness.

Campus Recreation programs currently include:

  • Fitness Programs offer group exercise, personal training, fitness contests and guidance in the area of health-related fitness.
  • Intramural Sports provide contests in a variety of sports.
  • Aquatics Programs offer use of the universities pool for swimming, competitions, and clinics.
  • Informal or “drop in” recreation
  • Outdoor Adventures Wilderness Adventure Rental Equipment (WARE) and information on area resources and treks are available to help you explore.

The Office of Campus Recreation is proud to be an institutional member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA). NIRSA provides resources and professional connections that help our professional staff enhance the student experience at Stanislaus State.

The Student Recreation Complex provides stadium and practice facilities for the Athletic Department’s Soccer and Track and Field teams. The SRC has been the host site of the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships, CCAA Championships, NCAA Soccer 1st round, High School Soccer and PDL Soccer.

The Residential Life Village is centrally located on campus, close to the Student Recreation Complex, athletic facilities, University Union, dining venues, classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, and the library. The Village, lets students immerse themselves in all aspects of the university experience while giving a plethora of support resources and guidance. Students may choose from a variety of living arrangements; there are four-bedroom apartments and two- and four-bedroom suites. Each suite or apartment has a living room, bathroom, and one, two or three-person bedrooms; balconies overlook a central courtyard. Apartments also include a full kitchen. The Village is designed to provide a sociable and supportive living-learning environment with privacy and security for 700 residents. Amenities include study spaces, a TV lounge, recreation room, laundry facilities, computer lab, a 200-seat dining facility, two swimming pools, covered bike storage, a basketball court and a volleyball court. Charges are all-inclusive and include fully furnished living spaces, a meal plan, utilities, programs and events, laundry, internet, TV cable and more.

Members of the community enjoy the convenience and ease of living on campus and are easily able to connect to their peers, as well as their faculty. Resident Assistants and Peer Academic Leaders reside on every floor and offer guidance and advice about integrating into the university. Peer-to-peer engagement and interaction make the residential life village a vibrant, diverse and welcoming atmosphere in which students are able to learn and grow as they pursue their academic and personal goals.

The Office of Student Leadership and Development is responsible for chartering and oversight of all student organizations and Greek organizations and program oversight and coordination of New Student Orientation. The office staff also coordinates the Student Leadership Program and the Warrior Leadership Series, with multiple opportunities for leadership development and skill building open to all students.

The Office of Student Leadership and Development advises more than 80 student organizations, including fraternities and sororities in planning, implementing, and promoting events and leadership experiences. Come to the office to learn more:

University Student Union

The University Student Union, is a student-funded auxiliary, composed of student representatives on the USU Board of Directors. The USU is currently in the process of building a new University Student Center.  In December 2015, the student body voted to approve the project.  A $52 million renovation plan was approved, and will be funded by a $209/semester increase to the student fee, effective Fall 2019. The vision for the University Student Center is to provide a fulfilling experience and the resources necessary to allow for student success.  The new building will be the heart of the University and a place where students can be collaborative, creative, and comfortable.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 8, 2018 to commemorate the beginning of construction.  Construction began on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 and the new University Student Center is scheduled to open by Spring 2020.  USU will be keeping students and campus community updated on the project throughout the entire construction process.  For more information on this project, please visit:  https://thenewstanstate.org

While the new University Student Center is being built, USU will continue to provide services to be used by the students.  USU funds the printing and services at the ASI/USU Front Desk as well as sponsors a portion of Code Red Entertainment - an organization centered on programming and events for students. These groups include USU Daily Events, USU Social Awareness, and the Weekend Warrior Program. These groups plan daily events as well as discounted weekend trips to enhance student life on and off campus.

ASI & USU have temporarily relocated to Housing & Residential Life during the new University Student Center construction. The ASI & USU Front Desk offers many services to meet students, staff and faculty needs in a helpful and efficient manner.  Students, staff & faculty can purchase prints, copies, fax & scan.  The front desk is also the location where you can pay for USU Weekend Warrior Trips and purchase ASI Warrior Merchandise.

They also offer Print-N-Go services, and the sales of bus passes and movie tickets.

The ASI/USU Front Desk is open, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
